Core terms

Audio to sheet music

The process of detecting notes and rhythm from audio, then rendering a readable score draft.

Numbered Notation

A notation view where scale degrees 1-7 represent melody notes. Song2Notation uses the right-hand melody for piano results.

MusicXML

A structured notation exchange format that can be imported into notation apps for further editing.

MIDI

A performance-style note event format that is useful for DAWs, playback, and editing.

Piano Roll

A time-and-pitch view of notes, commonly used in DAWs and useful for visual checking.

Transcription minutes

The monthly allowance used by Pianist and Composer plans to control processing capacity.

Score draft

A generated starting point that should be reviewed before performance, teaching, or publication.

RLS

Row Level Security, the Supabase/PostgreSQL policy layer used to isolate user and workspace data.
